The center of reference (TOR) "Idiopathic nephrotic syndrome or NIS " whose coordinator is Dr. Sahali (Hospital Henri Mondor) was founded in 2006.
It revolves around five adult renal units headed by Professor Philip Lang (Hôpital Henri Mondor), Prof. Bernard Charpentier (Hôpital Kremlin Bicetre), Professor Philip Lesavre (Necker Hospital), Prof. Pierre Ronco (Hôpital Tenon) and Prof. Jean Pierre Soulilou (CHU Nantes) and 2 pediatric nephrology departments headed by Professor Albert Bensman (Hôpital Armand Trousseau) and Professor Patrick Niaudet (Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades).
Two hospital doctors have been recruited by the reference center, Dr. Vincent Audard (Henri Mondor Hospital) and Dr. Marina Charbit (Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades.
These services are all related to clinical research unit INSERM whose research topics are for the most centered around understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in renal diseases including idiopathic nephrotic syndrome.
