Project CKD Kidney and announcement of results of projects cohorts Big Loan

Valérie Pécresse, Minister of Higher Education and Research, and Mr. Rene Ricol, Commissioner General for Investment, unveiled January 25, 2011 the 10 winning projects Call for projects "cohorts" of the 44 projects submitted.

CKD Kidney (Chronic Kidney Disease-Epidemiology Network and Information in Nephrology) is winner of this first wave of call for projects "cohorts" of Big Loan. -Rein is the first large cohort study conducted in France on a representative sample of 3600 patients with chronic kidney disease followed in nephrology. It aims to increase knowledge of the determinants and biomarkers associated with the progression of chronic kidney disease and its complications, and identify practical ways of organizing the most effective care to slow its progress.

This large study will place France at the best level of research International and optimize public health policies and medical practices.
